Poll: 60% of Egyptians want peace with Israel, IF...

And it is a big if.

This is only true if it GUARANTEES the creation of a "Palestinian" state.

A majority of Egyptians do not favor radical changes in their government's foreign relations, including peace with Israel, a poll conducted by the United Nations-affiliated International Peace Institute shows, according to a report published Thursday in The Wall Street Journal.

The poll found that more than 60 percent of those polled are in favor of Egypt honoring its peace treaty with Israel as long as it ensures the creation of a Palestinian state.

The problem with the creation of a "Palestinian" state is that the "Palestinians" refuse to accept any agreement that ensures Israeli security. They demand that Israel shrink itself to an indefensible 8-mile waste line, they demand that Israel have absolutely no authority over their airspace (meaning that Israel would have no time to intercept incoming enemy aircraft/missiles), they demand that Israel split itself in half in order to connect Gaza with Judea and Samaria, they demand that all Jews be expelled from Judea and Samaria while simultaneously demanding access to the Right of Return... It goes on and on and on. The "Palestinians" will never have a state because they steadfastly refuse to accept any proposal that gives Israel any chance at survival. The only purpose of creating a "Palestine" is the destruction of Israel.

Meaning that we need to poll Egyptians to find out how many of them support war with Israel if peace doesn't lead to a "Palestinian" state. My bets are it would be a large majority.
